Estimation of Ecological Risk for Human Health on the Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea


Brief description This project is aimed at estimation of ecological risk for human health in specific regions, which is based on the analysis of natural characteristics of the region, industrial pressure state and population health status at present and future forecast of their change. This estimation should be the scientific rationale of corresponding actions taken by state authorities during estimation and planning of social and economic development of the region. The approaches established in European Community are taken as basis of methodology of the risk estimation. In particular, calculation and estimation of exceedance of allowable critical load of priority air pollutant is carried out under the guidelines of the European Convention on Long-range Transboundary Pollution that were tested and approved by the authors of the project for the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and can be used for quantitative estimation of ecological situation in the given region. The approach uses contemporary geo-information technologies, including making maps of received data.
